Other
Featured Projects
Here are some of the featured projects from previous
months.
WebCT 1,2,3 PowerPoint Presentations
This month's featured
Project: We recently taught an intensive,
two-day workshop for twenty professors who are
preparing to use WebCT in their classes this Fall.
These PowerPoint
presentations were part of that training.
Teaching
Tips
Our friend Dr.
Norm Page, a Speech Communications professor at Cal
State Fullerton, has created a web site where teachers
and students alike can share techniques for great
instruction. It's called "Teaching
Tips". Norm manages the content and I
help with the graphics. Check it out, and please
contribute a tip!
Humans
As Information Processors
When our
President, Dr. Bob Bramucci, was in
graduate school, his mentor Dr. Paul Whitney produced a video-based upper division cognitive
psychology course for the Mind Extension University
distance learning network. That
course is now taught via the web, and utilizes a
video clip of me lecturing on the use of a subtractive
methodology in noninvasive PET and MRI research.
On
Babies, Bathwater, and Schemata
Dr. Bramucci coauthored a
theoretical paper on the role of top-down inferences
in reading comprehension. The paper was
published in the September-October
1995 edition of the journal Discourse Processes.
